After much discussion, consultation and prayer, I regretfully have made the decision to cancel the official 2021 Hexham and Newcastle Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. I am deeply grateful to those who have supported and advised me during this process of discernment.
We will have virtual and, if restrictions allow, Pilgrimage gatherings leading up to and during our Pilgrimage week. If it becomes legally possible and safe, individual pilgrims may wish to make a private visit to Lourdes. Government websites and Tangney Tours are available for advice about travel arrangements.
We continue through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes to pray for the healing of our world at this time of pandemic.
